Letters from a private in the U.S. Army Ambulance Corps, in section 516 organized at U.Va., May, 1917 [manuscript] 1917-19.

Addressed to his mother, Mrs. W.J. Dingledine, sister Gladys Dingledine, brother Raymond Carlyle Dingledine, and grandmother, Mrs. Mary E. Black, all of Harrisonburg, Va. The letters were written during training, first near Allentown, Pa., then in Tobyhanna, Pa., and later in France where his section was attached to the 66th French Division (the Division Brissand). Vivid descriptions of the life of a Ford ambulance driver, who won the Croix de Guerre, are given.
